My rules alone shall you observe, and faithfully follow My laws:  I the LORD am your God. You shall keep My laws and My rules, by the pursuit of which man shall live:  I am the LORD.

Leviticus 18:4-5 (Torah)

Just before Passover, in 2011, while I was examining the calendar I developed for the web-site; I discovered that there was a difference between the Jewish calendar and my own.  Immediately, I thought that I must have made a mistake on my calendar, so I went back and checked and rechecked the dates of the New Moon, the laws of Moses, and my calculations.  When I realized that I had not made a mistake, I was concerned as to why the Jewish calendar differed from my own and so I made several inquires.  I contacted several Rabbi’s and most of them either did not take the time to answer the question, because they were too busy preparing for Passover or they did not know why.  Finally, I spoke to a Rabbi, who referred to the teachings of Hillel and he told me that Hillel had recalculated the phases of the moon and altered the Jewish calendar; therefore, when the holy days are practiced, there no longer practiced according to the teachings of Moses and the Word of God, but by the teachings of Hillel.  So if you are observing the Jewish calendar, the dates may be off by 1 to 2 days or even more.  For example:  The counting of the omer period last for fifty days according to the Laws of Moses, in Leviticus 23:9-16: the law states that the counting of the omer period begins on the day after the Sabbath, the same day as when the Lord was resurrected, after he was crucified.  However this year, Shavuot (the final day of the omer period) was celebrated on June 8th, when it should have been observed on June 13th, 2011.  Also this year, the Day of Atonement is scheduled to be practiced on October 8th, when it should be observed on October the 6th, 10 days following the New Moon and the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah; according to Leviticus 23:23-25.  How is it possible for us to truly lift up the Lord and humanity and profess to be teachers of the law, when we do not observe the law, according to the Word of God?  This year, when you participate in the Day of Atonement, and seek to be reconciled to the Lord; please pray with sincerity and return to the original teachings in the Word of God and forsake the teachings and traditions of mankind.
